Creature Phase
The creature phase is probably the phase that is most anticipated in Spore, and lets you control one of the creatures you have now created.
You start out in a nest with other creatures of your species, and can explore the world populated by other creatures made by yourself, Maxis or other players. It is your choice to become friends or enemies with these creatures.
The creature phase has quite a few similarities with the cell phase, but this is true 3D, where you walk, fly, jump or by other means move around in the word. You receive quests, and can decide if you want to do these or just do your own things. Most quests is of the type of either become friends with or exterminate other species.
If you have played a first person roleplaying game or a MMORPG like World of Warcraft, this phase will be very familiar, except the special feature of creating the character yourself.
To befriend or exterminate other enemies you use the Spore Creature Creator to develop you creature’s features. It can be focused on friendly abilities like singing, dancing and impressing, or hostile abilities like health, biting and spitting. A third option is to focus on both or nothing, fight with some and be friends with some.
You collect DNA by doing missions or quests, and the DNA allows you to “equip” your creature with abilities that you collect around the world.
After collecting enough DNA your brain will grow and you will see that the creatures you have created is ready to move on to the tribal phase. Remember that this is the last phase that you are able to customize your creature, so if you haven’t placed hands on the creature after finishing the spore creature phase, you will never be able to place hands on it.
